Black Stars coach Otto Addo has named a 23-man squad for the upcoming Unity Cup 2025, set to take place in London. The team features a mix of foreign-based and local players, with four from the Ghana Premier League making the cut: Benjamin Asare (Hearts of Oak), Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC), and Kwame Opoku (Asante Kotoko).
Among the notable call-ups is former West Ham goalkeeper Joseph Tetteh Anang, now with St. Patrick’s Athletic in Ireland, earning his first senior national team invitation.
The squad also includes rising stars from the Black Satellites: Abdul Aziz Issah and Aaron Essel, both of whom impressed at the U-20 AFCON in Egypt. Talented winger Caleb Yirenkyi (FC Nordsjaelland, Denmark) and Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini (Union Saint-Gilloise, Belgium) join the team, signaling Ghana’s investment in young international talent.
Midfielder Abdul Samed Salis (Sunderland) and forwards Felix Afena Gyan and Majeed Ashimeru (Anderlecht) return to the team, with Afena Gyan making a comeback after nearly two years away and Salis returning from injury.
The squad will assemble in London ahead of their semi-final clash with Nigeria on Wednesday, May 28, at the GTech Community Stadium. The winner will proceed to the final on Saturday, May 31, where they will face either Trinidad and Tobago or Jamaica.
