The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has officially declared former Finance Minister Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta wanted, urging the public to provide information regarding his whereabouts.
The OSP announced this in a notice posted on its X (formerly Twitter) page, following a press briefing in Accra last week where he was also declared a fugitive.
According to the notice, Ofori-Atta, born on November 7, 1958, is a 66-year-old male with black eyes, black hair, and brown skin. His possible locations include the United States and the United Kingdom.
The former minister faces several charges related to financial misconduct, including alleged involvement in the Strategic Mobilisation-GRA contract, the termination of the ECG-BXC contract, payments linked to the National Cathedral, the procurement of ambulances, and the utilisation of the Tax Refund Account.
The OSP has called on the public to report any information on his location by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 0554494499 or 0554484488.
However, the office also emphasized that Ofori-Atta remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, in line with the legal principle of presumption of innocence.
