In a heartfelt message on his Twitter handle, Osman Bukari, a key player for the Ghanaian national football team, the Black Stars, expressed profound regret and offered a sincere apology to the nation’s fans following the team’s disappointing performance at the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D’Ivoire.

Bukari acknowledged the embarrassment the team brought upon the nation, expressing the heaviness he feels for contributing to their inability to advance to the next stage. The Black Stars were eliminated from the tournament after managing only two draws against Egypt and Mozambique, coupled with a loss to Cape Verde during the group stages.

“I would like to render an unqualified apology for the mistakes and assure you that we will come back better and stronger for the team and the country,” tweeted Bukari. Despite the early exit, he expressed optimism about the team’s future, hoping for forgiveness from fans and assuring them that they would return with improved performance.
