The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has received a detailed dossier exposing the National Service ghost names scandal, which has allegedly cost Ghana over GHS500 million.
The dossier was presented by The Fourth Estate and the Media Foundation for West Africa, both recognized for their commitment to promoting transparency and accountability. In a Facebook post on Friday, December 20, 2024, Ablakwa expressed his gratitude, lauding the organizations for their exceptional patriotism.
“We are extremely grateful to The Fourth Estate and the Media Foundation for West Africa for the presentation and their exceptional patriotism. Together, we shall reset Ghana and recover all loot,” Ablakwa stated.
The dossier will be instrumental in ORAL’s investigation and efforts to recover the stolen funds. The team is determined to address fraudulent activities that have resulted in substantial financial losses for the nation and to hold those involved accountable.
This initiative is part of a broader campaign to combat corruption and promote transparency within Ghana’s public sector. Supported by local and international experts, the ORAL team aims to restore public trust in government institutions and ensure efficient use of public resources for the benefit of all citizens.
The ORAL team comprises notable figures, including Daniel Domelevo, former Auditor-General; COP (Rtd.) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, retired Police Commissioner; Martin Kpebu, private legal practitioner; and Raymond Archer, investigative journalist.
Their collective expertise underscores the government’s commitment to rooting out corruption and recovering funds lost to fraudulent schemes.
