One-Week Observance in Honor of Rex Omar’s Late Mother to be Held on Saturday, 27th January, 2023

Renowned Ghanaian musician, Rex Omar (Rex Kwame Owusu Marfo), and his family are preparing to commemorate the one-week observance for his late mother, Madam Grace Adwoa Duodowaa, also known as O’Gray. The event is scheduled to take place this Saturday, January 27, 2024, at The Page, situated off the Kaneshie-Mallam Road, commencing at 8 am.

Madam Grace Adwoa Duodowaa, born on January 2, 1947, to Opanin Kwasi Boakye and Maama Afia Anane of Asante Bɛkwai Abodom and Asokore, was the fourth child among five siblings. Her educational journey began at the Asokore Methodist Primary in 1952, culminating in the completion of Middle School with the (MSLC) in 1962. Subsequently, she pursued a course in design and dressmaking in Kumasi, where she met and married Mr. Emmanuel Rexford Wusu Ansah, a Medical Practitioner, in 1964.

A devoted Christian and a firm disciplinarian, O’Gray instilled Christian values in all her eight children. Notably, her second-born, Rev. Osei Asibey, embraced a path to become a Pastor. Madam Duodowaa successfully balanced her dressmaking business, impacting several of her children, including Akwasi Osei Bonsu, Eno Mary, Isaac Boakye, and Antwi Rockson. However, her health began to decline over time.
