It has been confirmed that Timo Werner is joining Chelsea this summer from RB Leipzig, moving for a fee of 55 million euros.
He’ll stay with RB Leipzig for the rest of the Bundesliga season, but won’t complete the 2019/20 Champions League season with the German club as he’ll link up with his new Chelsea teammates in July.
“I am delighted to be signing for Chelsea,” the player said of the transfer.
“It is a very proud moment for me to be joining this great club.
“I, of course, want to thank RB Leipzig, the club and the fans for four fantastic years.
“You will forever be in my heart.
“I look forward to next season with my new teammates, my new manager and, of course, the Chelsea fans.
“Together we have a very successful future ahead of us.”
