The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has clarified that former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, was duly notified about the postponement of her scheduled disciplinary hearing, contrary to her claims.
Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Haruna Mohammed, addressed the issue at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Monday, April 7, 2025. He responded to Adwoa Safo’s concerns after she expressed disappointment at arriving at the NPP headquarters only to discover the disciplinary committee was not in session.
According to Mohammed, the party followed standard procedure in communicating the change.
“Her counsel received a letter. We’ve had calls with her. Even me, I pointed to her that I’ve called on her numbers,” he stated, adding that multiple attempts were made to reach her directly.
He assured that the hearing had only been rescheduled and that a new date would be communicated to her and her legal team in due time.
Mohammed reiterated the party’s respect for Adwoa Safo as a senior figure, noting the importance of ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the process.
“I’m stating the facts, and this is an official record I am putting out to the general public,” he emphasized.
The NPP’s disciplinary committee is currently investigating comments made by Adwoa Safo following the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.
