As Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia prepares to address the nation today, setting the stage for a year-long political campaign, notable figures within the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have shared their expectations and sentiments ahead of the anticipated event.

Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, expressed her expectations for Dr. Bawumia’s address, emphasizing his unique vision for Ghana despite serving as Vice President for the past seven years. Former Communications Director of the NPP, Nana Akomea, highlighted the government’s recent dip in popularity due to economic challenges, emphasizing the necessity for Dr. Bawumia to assert himself as an independent leader with a compelling agenda to garner support from Ghanaian voters. Akomea stressed the importance of Dr. Bawumia distinguishing himself as “his own man” amidst the political landscape.

The newly-elected parliamentary candidate for Dome-Kwabenya, Mike Oquaye Jnr, arrived at the venue amid enthusiastic support from constituents, demonstrating unwavering allegiance to the party’s flagbearer. Oquaye’s presence signifies the fervent backing of the NPP within the constituency as Dr. Bawumia delivers his address.

Former National Organiser of the NPP, Sammi Awuku, expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s ability to deliver a compelling speech, anticipating a strong message that resonates with the electorate. Awuku’s remarks underscore the party’s optimism and anticipation surrounding Dr. Bawumia’s address.
