The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) is currently awaiting official approval from the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, to interrogate the Member of Parliament for Assin South, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, over explosive allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering.

This was disclosed by the Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, during an appearance on Face to Face on Channel One TV. He noted that the MP has so far failed to cooperate with security agencies following his own public assertions that two aircraft recently landed in Ghana loaded with narcotics and large sums of cash.

“The NIB wrote to the Speaker to release Ntim Fordjour. The Speaker is yet to respond to the NIB, as far as I am aware. Anytime the Speaker responds to it, he will be available for questions,” Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said.

He further emphasized the need for transparency in the matter, adding that the interrogation process should be made public to ensure accountability.

“I have requested that the interrogation be released to the public,” he stated.
