The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that the initial issuance of the Ghana Card at its 276 district offices nationwide remains free of charge.

- Fees have been introduced for first-time issuance at Premium Centres, following parliamentary approval in 2023.
- The Ghana Card is essential for government services, financial transactions, and national security.
Fee Structure at Premium Centres:
- First-time issuance – GH₵310.00
- Lost or damaged card replacement – GH₵125.00
- Personal record update + card replacement – GH₵420.00
- Nationality updates – GH₵70.00
- General record updates – Free at district offices, but GH₵310.00 at Premium Centres.
The NIA encourages Ghanaians to visit district offices for their free Ghana Card to avoid unnecessary costs.
