New Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Sets Focus on Rural Housing and Saglemi Project

In his new role as Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has outlined his key priorities, aligning with the objectives set by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Nkrumah intends to prioritize rural housing, drainage systems, and the Saglemi project, as announced in a significant ministerial reshuffle.

President Akufo-Addo’s reshuffle on Wednesday, February 14, saw 13 ministers of state, including 10 cabinet ministers and two regional ministers, being impacted. Notably, the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, was relieved of his duties.

Speaking on his expectations upon assuming office, the outgoing Information Minister highlighted President Akufo-Addo’s priorities, stating, “The president’s priorities for this new era include, in particular, giving more attention to rural housing associated with the Agenda 111 project.” He also emphasized the need to address drainage systems to mitigate flooding risks in various parts of the country and to expedite resolutions for the Saglemi project.

The focus on rural housing and the Saglemi project reflects the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and addressing housing challenges across Ghana.
