The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has announced that a new head coach for the Black Stars is expected to be unveiled on Monday, April 13, 2026.
Speaking on Channel One TV, the Minister said the selection process is at an advanced stage, with only a few final consultations remaining before the official announcement.
He indicated that discussions with the remaining candidates are nearly complete, and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is close to finalising its decision.
The move follows the departure of former head coach Otto Addo, prompting the GFA to intensify efforts to appoint a replacement.
The GFA Executive Committee has been reviewing shortlisted candidates, with reports suggesting that three individuals are under consideration for the role.
The appointment is seen as critical to stabilising the team after inconsistent performances and preparing the Black Stars for upcoming competitions, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Once a final decision is made, the GFA is expected to work with the government to complete the appointment process.
Reports indicate that experienced international coaches, including Carlos Queiroz, Fernando Santos, Paulo Bento, and Walid Regragui, are among those being considered.
The announcement is expected to provide direction for the national team as Ghana aims to improve its performance on the global stage.
