A taskforce from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region has confiscated over 3,000 bags of fertilizers reportedly hidden by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a warehouse at Asante Akyem Agogo in the Asante Akyem North Municipality.

The operation, led by Nana Prempeh Amankwah, is part of the NDC’s regional initiative dubbed “Operations Recover All Loot (ORAL).” Speaking to Adom News, Nana Prempeh stated that the fertilizers were allegedly meant for distribution to farmers but had been concealed. Acting on a tip-off, the taskforce uncovered the stockpile.

The confiscated fertilizers have since been transported to the Municipal Assembly office for safekeeping. While the police have initiated investigations into the matter, Nana Prempeh assured that the NDC would ensure the fertilizers remain secured until a new government assumes power.

The incident has heightened tensions between the two major political parties as investigations continue.
