NDC Sekondi Parliamentary Candidate Distributes Aid to 5,000 Elderly Individuals During Festive Season

In a bid to ensure that vulnerable individuals in Sekondi experience the joy of the holiday season, Blay Nyameke Armah, the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate for Sekondi, has extended support to 5,000 elderly residents by distributing 5-kilogram bags of rice, amounting to over GH¢500,000 in value.

During surprise deliveries to the recipients’ homes, Lawyer Blay emphasized the significance of giving back to the community, particularly when one is blessed with abundance. This initiative, spanning three years, aims to bring cheer to the elderly, whom Blay considers an often-neglected demographic in need of care and attention.

“It’s a privilege to support the aged,” remarked Blay, highlighting a sense of divine responsibility to share blessings during festive occasions like Christmas and Easter. Expressing concern over the neglect faced by the elderly, he stressed the importance of collective societal responsibility in ensuring their well-being, asserting that neglecting them leads to worrying consequences.

Advocating for broader support from philanthropists and businesses, Blay emphasized the necessity of uplifting the elderly, not only to bring smiles to their faces but also to alleviate their economic hardships.

Blay also linked this act of generosity to relieving stress on families and communities, particularly in challenging times influenced by the governance of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration.
