The National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the prompt payment of outstanding allowances owed to National Service Personnel (NSP) across the country.
In a press release dated February 17, 2026, and signed by the Director-General of the Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, the NSA stated that concrete steps are being taken to expedite the disbursement of verified arrears.
The Authority assured personnel that all legitimate and validated arrears will be cleared by the close of the week, emphasising that allowances are critical to supporting service personnel throughout their service year.
According to the statement, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) advanced funds last week covering a two-month period to facilitate payments.
“Management would want to assure personnel that the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) advanced funds for disbursement last week for a period of two (2) months,” the statement said.
However, the NSA explained that the delay in disbursement is due to an ongoing verification process by Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS). The Authority noted that the process must be completed to ensure accuracy and financial integrity before payments are finalised.
Management expressed appreciation for the patience and resilience demonstrated by personnel during the delay and pledged to continue providing timely updates through its official communication channels.
