Legendary footballer and Argentine star, Diego Armando Maradona may be dead and gone but his legacy still leaves on.
Today, his former club Napoli have honored the legend by renaming their stadium after the Argentine magician.

The Italian club, Napoli took to their official twitter page to announce the stadium renaming.
Stadio Diego Armando Maradona is the new name for the Sao Paolo stadium.
The city authorities and the club’s president had proposed renaming the San Paolo Stadium within hours of Maradona’s death on 25 November.
“The decree was signed by the entire city council,” the city government said in a statement.

The statement hailed Maradona as “the greatest footballer of all time who, with his immense talent and magic, honoured the Naples jersey for seven years, offering it two Italian league titles and other prestigious trophies, and receiving, in exchange, the eternal and unconditional love of the entire city”.

Diego Maradona led the Serie A club to two league titles and one European title.
