Nana Owusu Achiaw Brempong, a 70-year-old farmer from the Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region, has been awarded the title of National Best Farmer for 2024. With a farming career of over 50 years, Nana Owusu owns North American Farms, which provides employment to 168 workers and grows crops such as cocoa and cashew.
In recognition of his dedication to agriculture, he was awarded one million Ghana cedis during the Farmers Day celebration on November 8. In his acceptance speech, Nana Owusu emphasized the importance of strengthening food security efforts.
The nationwide Farmers Day event honored the significant contributions of farmers to the Ghanaian economy. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other dignitaries attended the ceremony to celebrate Ghana’s agricultural heroes.
