NACOC Arrests 60-Year-Old Ammunition and Drug Dealer, Seizes 2,626 Cartridges

The Upper West Regional Command of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested 60-year-old Abass Seidu, a suspected ammunition and drug dealer, at Kundugu in the Wa East District.

The arrest, conducted on January 29, 2026, followed extensive surveillance operations by undercover officers at the Kundugu market and Seidu’s stash house in Wa. Initial searches recovered three cartons of ammunition and tramadol hidden within pharmaceutical drugs.

A subsequent raid at his Wa-Kejetia stash house yielded seven more cartons and 362 individual pieces of ammunition, plus assorted foreign cigarettes. In total, authorities seized 2,626 cartridges.

Investigations revealed that Seidu supplied both local clients and individuals from neighbouring Burkina Faso. He has been handed over to the Wa Municipal Police for further investigation and prosecution. NACOC has urged the public to avoid illegal activities and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
