MTN Ghana Supports National Chief Imam Ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr Celebration

In the spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr, MTN Ghana has demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating food items and cash to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu. The donation, which included 25 bags of rice, 15 cartons of vegetable oil, 40 packs of mineral water, 10 cartons of canned drinks, 20 packs of assorted soft drinks, and a ram, aims to support the Chief Imam and his community during the festive season.

Mr. Salihu Abu, Senior Manager for Customer Relations and Credit Management at MTN Ghana, highlighted that the gesture reflects the company’s dedication to supporting customers from diverse religious backgrounds and cultures. Similar donations are also being made to Regional Chief Imams in Ashanti, Western, and Northern regions.

During the festival, MTN will provide enhanced customer services at various locations, allowing customers to perform activities such as SIM changes and MoMo registrations. Additionally, the company will educate customers on Mobile Money fraud prevention.

Mr. Abu emphasized that these donations are a token of appreciation for customers’ support, patronage, and loyalty to MTN. He also announced the opening of entries for the MTN Bright Scholarship scheme, which supports students in public tertiary and vocational institutions with tuition, accommodation, stipends, and laptops. The deadline for scholarship applications is Friday, May 31, 2024, and applicants must apply through the web portal at scholarship.mtn.com.gh.
