Mother and Daughter Among Three Dead in Ohene Nkwanta Accident

Three people, including a mother and her daughter, have died in a tragic accident at Ohene Nkwanta on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Ashanti Region.

The crash occurred around midnight on Wednesday, April 16, when a Zhong Tong KS Transport Service bus (GW 5547-23), carrying 36 passengers from Kumasi to Aflao, collided with a Chevrolet Kalo taxi (AS 1766-18). According to police, the taxi driver attempted a wrongful overtaking on a sharp curve, leading to the head-on collision.

Several injured passengers were rushed to the Konongo-Odumasi Government Hospital, where some have been treated and discharged. Others remain under medical care.

The deceased bodies have been deposited at the Steward Hospital Morgue in Yawkwei.
