MoMo Vendor Shot Dead in Broad Daylight Robbery at Nkrankwanta

A Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor, Japhet Yeboah, has been shot and killed in a daylight robbery at the Nkrankwanta lorry station in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.

The tragic incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, when gunmen in a white RAV4 private car approached Japhet under the pretense of making a transaction.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants attacked him and demanded money, leading to a struggle. During the scuffle, Japhet managed to unmask one of the robbers, but he was shot twice and died on the spot.

Panic ensued as drivers, passengers, and vendors at the station fled when the robbers fired warning shots. The suspects escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving Japhet in a pool of blood.

His body has been deposited at the Nkrankwanta Hospital, while police have launched an investigation into the incident.
