Mohammed Kudus has been nominated for the prestigious 2024 FIFA Puskas Award following his sensational solo goal against Freiburg. The Ghanaian international dribbled from his own box, evading multiple defenders before calmly slotting the ball into the net during the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals between West Ham United and Freiburg.
Kudus is one of 11 nominees for the award, which recognizes the best goal scored between August 21, 2023, and August 10, 2024. His stunning strike earlier won the Europa League Goal of the Season award and was also named West Ham’s Goal of the Season.
Other notable nominees include Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco.
The FIFA Puskas Award winner will be selected by an international jury composed of FIFA Legends and global fans registered on FIFA.com.
Despite his on-field achievements, Kudus is currently serving a suspension after being banned by the English FA for violent conduct.
