The Minority Caucus in Parliament has filed a Right to Information (RTI) request to obtain detailed cost information about the road construction equipment used in the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
Launched on Wednesday, July 31, DRIP aims to tackle road maintenance issues by partnering with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and providing them with essential earth-moving machinery.
In a statement signed by Mahama Ayariga, Ranking Member of the Committee on Information and Communication, the Minority invoked section 18 of the Rights to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989) to request this data.
The Caucus is seeking information on the cost of each piece of equipment procured for DRIP, the payment schedule, and the total payments made so far, among other details.
