The Ministry of National Security has issued a directive prohibiting the operation of drones at the Black Star Square and its surrounding areas during the presidential inauguration ceremony scheduled for January 7, 2025.
In a press release signed by Lily Fati Soale, the Acting Chief Director, the Ministry emphasized that the restriction applies to all types of drones, including recreational and commercial ones. The directive is part of heightened security measures aimed at ensuring the safety of guests, dignitaries, and the general public during the event.
“The Ministry of National Security is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for the presidential inauguration,” the statement read. The Ministry also called on all drone operators to comply with the directive and respect the security measures in place.
This announcement comes as preparations for the inauguration intensify, with thousands of attendees expected to witness the historic event. Security agencies have assured the public of a well-coordinated effort to ensure a peaceful and orderly ceremony.
