President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr. Michael Harry Yamson as the Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
A source at the Presidency told the Ghana News Agency that Mr. Yamson’s extensive experience in business, marketing, and governance would be beneficial to the Fund’s operations.
Mr. Yamson currently serves as a Board Member at Unichem Ghana Group and Managing Partner at Ishmael Yamson & Associates, a role he has held since 2021. He is a graduate of the University of Leeds with expertise in brand and channel development, innovation, and team leadership.
With nearly 30 years of experience in strategy, business transformation, and investment advisory, Mr. Yamson has held leadership positions across FMCG, telecommunications, agribusiness, and management consultancy.
He started his career at Unilever Ghana, where he led the transformation of the foods category, optimized distribution systems, and spearheaded agro-processing initiatives. In South Africa, he headed Unilever’s Africa Innovation Centre before managing Foods portfolios in Ghana and Francophone West Africa.
His telecommunications experience includes managing a €1 billion pre-paid business across 14 African markets. As General Manager for Gateway Broadcast Services Ghana, he introduced strategies that challenged a long-standing industry monopoly.
As CEO and Director at Ishmael Yamson & Associates, Mr. Yamson worked alongside Dr. Ishmael Evens Yamson, advising major organizations such as Tema Oil Refinery, Coca-Cola, and AngloGold Ashanti on strategic transformation.
