Mfantsipim, Osei Tutu, PRESEC Advance to NSMQ 2024 Semi-Finals 

Mfantsipim School, Osei Tutu Senior High School, and Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC) have all secured their spots in the semifinals of the 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), after displaying remarkable intellect and strategy.

The first contest saw a dramatic showdown between Mfantsipim School and Prempeh College, with both teams ending the main rounds tied at 53 points. In a nail-biting tiebreaker, Mfantsipim delivered the correct answer to the final question, pushing their score to 56 points, edging out Prempeh College, who remained at 53 points. Swedru Secondary School, also competing, finished with 27 points.

In the second contest, Osei Tutu SHS battled Apam SHS and Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS). Osei Tutu ultimately emerged victorious with 46 points, followed by Apam SHS with 39 points, and GSTS with 30 points. The contest was marked by close competition, but Osei Tutu’s consistency and knowledge earned them a place in the semifinals.

The final contest of the day featured reigning champions PRESEC, who faced Pope John’s SHS & Minor Seminary and St. James Seminary SHS. PRESEC lived up to expectations, dominating the match with 59 points. Pope John’s SHS & Minor Seminary followed with 46 points, while St. James Seminary SHS finished with 31 points.

As Mfantsipim, Osei Tutu, and PRESEC move forward to the semifinals, the stage is set for an intense battle for the ultimate NSMQ 2024 crown, with all teams demonstrating a strong desire to win the prestigious title.
