The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mfantseman Constituency, Ekow Quansah Hayford, has reportedly been shot dead.
According to information reaching Ghanaarticles.com, he met his untimely death on a return from a campaign trip on the Abeadze Dominase – Abeadze Duadzi – Mankessim Road around 1:am.

According to the New Patriotic Party’s First Vice Constituency Chairman, Wofa Yaw, said they were returning from a campaign tour when armed robbers attacked them.
Meanwhile, the families and constituents broke down in tears and flooded the premises of the Saltpond Hospital where the MP’s body was deposited and being conveyed from the mortuary. Both young and old people amid tears said prayers for the perpetrators to be arrested and brought to book.

Following the sudden death of Mr. Ekow Quansah Hayford, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Mfantseman constituency has suspended its campaign.
The NDC in a statement, signed by its Constituency Chairman, Fred Budu Hagan, is calling on the Police to do everything in their power to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous crime and let the law deal ruthlessly with them.
Meanwhile, the police have commenced investigations into the incident.
