Matilda Asante-Asiedu Appointed Second Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Matilda Asante-Asiedu as the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), in accordance with Section 17 of the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612).

The appointment was announced in a letter signed on April 28, 2025, by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.

Asante-Asiedu is a Chartered Executive Banker and seasoned corporate leader, having previously served as Group Head of Retail Banking at Access Bank Ghana PLC. She holds an MBA in Marketing from GIMPA and an MA in Journalism Studies from Cardiff University.

Her extensive educational background includes diplomas from the Ghana Institute of Journalism and the International Institute of Journalism in Berlin. She has also completed executive programmes at top institutions such as Oxford’s Said Business School, Wharton School, and Marquette University.
