Man Stabs Friend to Death with a Stick in Oti Region

A 37-year-old man, Uwombornyi Bado, has been fatally stabbed by his friend, Alhassan Merasa, in Zongo-Machire, a farming community near Chinderi in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region. The incident occurred when Merasa reportedly used a stick to stab Bado in the stomach.

Bado was rushed to a clinic in Chinderi and later transferred to the Kete-Krachi District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Although the two men were known to be close friends, the exact cause of the altercation remains unclear. Mr. John Mpoebi Nteleye, the Assembly member for Donwieso West Electoral Area, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA). He noted that the matter was reported to the Chinderi Police Command, leading to the arrest of Merasa.

Community members expressed shock and dismay over the tragic event. The deceased’s body has been taken to the Krachi West District morgue for preservation, while the police continue their investigation.
