Man Arrested After Live Radio Admission of Inappropriate Relationship with Minor

The Ghana Police Service has detained Nana Poku Piesie, also known as Kwabena, following a viral video in which he claimed to have been involved with a minor.

Piesie was taken into custody on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, and is currently aiding the police with their inquiries.

“We assure the public that the suspect will undergo due legal processes,” stated the Ghana Police Service in an official announcement regarding the arrest.

Prominent figures such as Lydia Forson and Sarkodie, alongside numerous internet users, demanded Piesie’s arrest after he openly recounted his experience with a 14-year-old girl during a live radio broadcast.

A video posted on social media by user @eddie_wrt shows the man in a radio studio discussing the concept of karma. He recounted how his previous misdeeds have led to his current circumstances.

“I had an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old several years ago. Her father is a wealthy man in Dormaa Ahenkro,” he began.

Despite attempts by others in the studio to stop him from continuing, Piesie insisted on sharing his story. “No, let me share my experience!” he said, ignoring signals from fellow panelists.

“I was involved with her extensively… She was very well-developed for her age. I had relations with her numerous times from when she was in primary school until she finished secondary school in Kumasi. Oh Kwame, sinning is not good,” he reflected.

Relating his story to the discussion on karma, he continued, “Now that my daughter has reached that age, I discovered a teacher behaving inappropriately with her. When I complained to my wife, she reminded me of my past actions with the other girl.”

“She asked me about the girl’s age when I had relations with her, and I told her she was about 14–15 years old. I explained that it started during extra classes and eventually led to an inappropriate relationship. My wife then pointed out that I was experiencing the consequences of my own actions. It hurt me,” he admitted.

His confession prompted outrage, with many, including actress Lydia Forson, rapper Sarkodie and several others.
