A 26-year-old man, Kwabena Adjei, has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing his 19-year-old Nigerian girlfriend, identified only as Testimony, and burying her body in a septic tank at Sunyani Magazine, near the Bono Regional Fire Command.
According to reports, Adjei handed himself over to the police in the company of his uncle, claiming he was being haunted by Testimony’s ghost.
The incident reportedly occurred after a misunderstanding between the couple, during which Adjei allegedly elbowed Testimony, causing her to fall unconscious and die instantly.
The Sunyani Municipal Operations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), ADOII Ignatius Noekor, confirmed the incident to the Ghanaian Times. He revealed that Adjei kept the body in his room for three days before disposing of it in the septic tank.
The GNFS was called in by the police to assist in retrieving the decomposed body from the tank. The team used water to flush the septic tank, allowing the body to float to the surface.
ADOII Noekor also mentioned that this was Testimony’s second visit to Adjei before her tragic death. The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
The police have yet to release further details as investigations continue.
