A fierce inferno has swept through the French-Line area of the Kumasi Central Market, inflicting substantial harm on stores retailing clothing, mobile phones, locally-crafted sandals, and medicinal items.

The conflagration erupted around 7 am on Sunday, prompting shop proprietors to hastily protect their possessions while some stood powerless witnessing their livelihoods consumed by the flames.

Despite the dispatch of four firefighting vehicles, firefighters are encountering difficulties in quelling the blaze. The extensive destruction and potential presence of perilous materials within the affected zone pose formidable obstacles to the ongoing firefighting endeavors.
