Legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to learn from its mistakes after its defeat in the 2024 general elections. He blamed the loss on arrogance and poor governance under former President Nana Akufo-Addo and warned the party against selecting another leader with similar leadership traits.
Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV, Kpebu said the NPP ignored valuable advice from stakeholders, which led to its rejection at the polls. He commended media houses like Joy FM, Citi FM, and TV3 for holding the government accountable, stating that their work contributed to the NPP’s downfall.
He criticized the party’s leadership style, saying, “The arrogance was too much, the posturing, as if you were the only Ghanaians. Please learn, don’t bring somebody in the nature of Akufo-Addo again.”
Kpebu’s remarks reflect growing calls for the NPP to adopt a more inclusive and humble approach if it hopes to regain public trust in future elections.
