‎A student from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), affiliated with Unity Hall (Conti), is receiving medical treatment after being stabbed during a “Thank You” tour event organised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region.

‎The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Bantama Pentecost Church, where the event was hosted by the camp of Kennedy Agyapong, former Member of Parliament for Assin Central. The victim was part of a Jama group from Unity Hall, invited to entertain the crowd at the gathering.

‎Eyewitnesses report that a wealthy associate of Kennedy Agyapong gave cash to the Jama group during the event. However, chaos broke out when a group of heavily built, gun-wielding men—suspected to be NPP affiliates—stormed the scene and seized the money. This triggered a confrontation, during which gunshots were reportedly fired.

‎Amid the confusion, one of the Jama group members was stabbed multiple times and was immediately rushed to the emergency unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The student is currently receiving treatment.

‎Kennedy Agyapong and his team have since filed a formal complaint with the Kumasi Central Police Command. As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.
