Ken Agyapong Assumes Full Responsibility for Medical and Educational Costs of Stabbed KNUST Student

Businessman and former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has extended a significant act of generosity by pledging to cover all medical and academic expenses of the KNUST student who was stabbed during a political event in Kumasi on April 29, 2025.

The incident occurred during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Thank You Tour in the Ashanti Region. The Bantama gathering, which attracted large crowds from constituencies such as Manhyia South, Oforikrom, and Bantama, turned tragic when a confrontation led to the stabbing of a young supporter, believed to be affiliated with Agyapong.

The victim was immediately rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and is currently undergoing treatment.

In response, Ken Agyapong has not only taken full responsibility for the victim’s medical expenses but has also pledged to sponsor the remainder of his academic journey, including that of all his siblings. The gesture has been widely praised as a strong display of compassion and leadership.

Supporters and party insiders have lauded Agyapong’s intervention, describing it as consistent with his history of philanthropy and commitment to uplifting ordinary Ghanaians.

Meanwhile, investigations into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing are ongoing, as the young victim continues to recover.
