Kasoa: Fatal Truck Accident Claims Driver’s Life, Leaves Two Critically Injured

A tragic incident occurred at Krispol City Junction in Kasoa on Friday, June 21, resulting in the death of a tipper truck driver and leaving two others critically injured.

The driver, who fell under the vehicle, was immediately crushed by the truck’s tyres, leading to his instant death. His two companions sustained severe injuries and were quickly transported to the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa for medical attention. The deceased’s body has also been moved to the hospital morgue for preservation.

Eyewitnesses reported that the accident happened because the driver neglected to lower the truck’s dumper securely after unloading sand at a nearby fuel station. The dumper unexpectedly lifted and collided with the overpass at Krispol City Junction.

The truck’s cabin, registered GN 7842-21, was torn off, causing the driver and his two mates to be thrown from the vehicle.

“The truck was heading towards Budumburam camp when the dumper suddenly lifted. We heard a loud crash as it hit the Krispol City bridge. The driver was ejected through the front windscreen and fell under the truck, which then ran over him,” said Katu Dennis, an eyewitness, to Channel One News.

“Both of the driver’s mates experienced similar fates. The driver had just finished tipping sand at a nearby station when the accident happened,” Dennis added.

During the chaos, an unidentified individual reportedly took advantage of the situation to steal money and smartphones from the accident victims, an act that has been condemned by onlookers.
