President-elect John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to establishing an annual National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving to unite Ghanaians in gratitude and spiritual reflection.
Addressing a thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of God Church in Accra on Sunday, Mr. Mahama highlighted the need for a day dedicated to collective prayer and reflection on the nation’s achievements and challenges.
He emphasized that the initiative would foster national unity and provide an opportunity for citizens to express gratitude for blessings while seeking divine guidance for Ghana’s development.
“This day will allow us to pause each year as a nation, to thank God for His blessings and seek His guidance for the future. I will personally participate in this annual event,” he affirmed.
The President-elect also underscored the importance of strengthening the country’s spiritual foundation, stating that a shared sense of faith would better position Ghanaians to tackle challenges and achieve national aspirations.
Mr. Mahama expressed confidence that this initiative would enhance the country’s progress and promote the overall well-being of its citizens.
By instituting this day, he believes Ghana will reaffirm its reliance on God, reinforcing the spiritual principles essential for its growth and success.
