The Inspector General of Police (IGP), COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has placed a ban on all police leave for the rest of the year as the Ghana Police Service rolls out Operation Disaster-Free Christmas to boost public safety during the festive season.

Jamestown District Police Commander, Superintendent William Abisah, announced the directive while briefing officers on planned Christmas operations. He noted that both day and night patrols have already begun as part of the annual security buildup.

“I’m here to present our operational order for the Christmas festivities. As we all know, the Christmas season is approaching, and we have already started day and night patrols,” he said.
He added that the IGP has banned leave for all officers to ensure full deployment throughout the season.
