Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Finance Minister-designate, has revealed his ambitions for Ghana’s economic transformation if confirmed in his role. Speaking during his vetting by the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 13, 2025, Dr. Forson outlined his priorities, including reducing the cost of goods and services, stabilizing the economy, and creating jobs.

Expressing his commitment, he stated, “I want to be remembered as the one who helped to reduce prices, stabilized the economy, and created jobs. That is what I ask God to help me to achieve.”

Dr. Forson emphasized the importance of job creation as a critical component of his mandate, highlighting the need for strategic allocation of resources. “On jobs, I have said that my responsibility as a minister responsible for finance is to raise the required revenue and allocate it in consultation with cabinet to sectors that will create the jobs. So, we will do just that,” he said.
