American rapper Meek Mill expresses desire for Ghanaian citizenship
Philadelphia-born rapper Meek Mill has recently announced his intention to obtain Ghanaian citizenship. The decision, he stated, was motivated by what he perceives as America’s oppressive treatment towards the growth and prosperity of Black individuals.
In a tweet on March 4, 2024, Meek Mill expressed his desire, stating, “I wanna get citizenship in Ghana!! America made to tear black men down if you don’t follow orders!” This declaration comes amid a series of social media posts where the rapper has been vocal about various issues, including his recent involvement in a lawsuit.
Meek Mill’s name was reportedly mentioned in a suit filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a former employee of rapper and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs. The lawsuit, which remains largely redacted, allegedly involves claims of Meek Mill’s participation in gay escapades with Diddy, among others.
