House of Chiefs President Denies Supporting Illegal Mining

Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs, has vehemently denied allegations that he supports illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey. These claims arose following his speech at the inauguration of the Minerals Commission’s district office in Bibiani.

A statement issued by Nana Bonya III, Atipimhene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council, clarified that Ogyeahoho Gyebi’s remarks had been misinterpreted by certain media outlets.

He emphasized that the President has consistently spoken against illegal mining and supports responsible mining practices.

The statement condemned the false reports as unfounded and a deliberate attempt to damage Ogyeahoho Gyebi’s reputation.
