The family of 29-year-old Charles Amissah, who died following a hit-and-run incident in Accra, will lay him to rest today, February 27, 2026.
Mr. Amissah, an engineer with Promasidor Ghana Limited, was reportedly stabilised by emergency responders after the accident at the Circle Overpass on February 6 before being referred to hospitals where he was allegedly denied admission.
Reports indicate that delays and multiple hospital rejections may have contributed to his condition worsening. He later suffered cardiac arrest at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to his sister, Dr. Matilda Amissah, preparations have been made for a solemn burial ceremony at a Methodist Church in Accra.
In a related development, management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has interdicted two doctors and two nurses over their alleged failure to provide emergency care in the case. The hospital has set up an internal committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine appropriate action.
