Felicity Ama Agyemang, commonly known as Nana Ama McBrown, is a Ghanaian actress, TV host, and songwriter of music. She was born on August 15, 1977.She became well-known thanks to her work on the TV show Tentacles. She went on to achieve popular recognition after appearing in the Twi-language films “Asoreba” and “Kumasi Yonko”.

Nana Ama McBrown’s journey to stardom began when she burst onto the scene in the late 1990s. Since then, she has become a household name, known for her exceptional acting prowess and her ability to seamlessly transition from one role to another, whether it’s in a riveting drama or a hilarious comedy. She has captivated audiences not only in Ghana but across the African continent.

Education.
Prior to attending Minnesota International and Central International, McBrown attended St. Peter’s International Residential School. Even though she ultimately dropped out and was unable to take the Basic Education Certificate Exams, she continued to Kwadaso L.A. J.S.S.Later, McBrown attended the College of Business, where she earned a certificate in secretarial work.

Awards and Honors
In addition to acting in numerous films, McBrown has won numerous accolades, including Best English Actress, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Traditional Film, and Best Story at the 2011 Kumawood Awards. Additionally, she took home two awards at the 2016 Ghana Movie Awards: Favorite Actress and Eurostar Best Dressed Female Celebrity on the Red Carpet. At the Golden Movie Awards in 2018, she was again recognized as the Golden Actress in a Comedy Film for the film SideChic Gang.

She won the title of TV Female Entertainment Show Host Of The Year 2019-2020 at the 2020 Radio and Television Personality Awards. She also chose the title of TV Female Presenter of the Year for 2019–2020.

At the third Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA) ceremony in 2020, she was given the Outstanding Woman Brand Influencer award.

She received the Female Actor of the Year honor at the Entertainment Achievement Awards in March 2021.

Personal, career and marital life.
McBrown dated Okyeame Kwame, a musician from Ghana, for a brief period in 2004. The two were spotted together touring Ghana throughout the year to promote Kwame’s solo album.Okyeame Kwame’s 2004 solo album is titled “Boshe Ba” (translated as “Something Good” in English). This album marked a significant moment in the career of the Ghanaian rapper and musician. The album featured several tracks, including popular songs like “Sika,” “Odo,” and “M’asan Aba.” These tracks explored themes such as love, life, and societal issues.

On July 15, 2007, McBrown was installed as the “Nkosuohemaa” (or ceremonial queen-mother of progress) of Assin-Basiako, which is close to Assin-Fosu in Ghana’s Central Region’s Assin North District.

She wed her longtime partner Maxwell Mawu Mensah in 2016. McBrown gave birth to a girl in Canada in February 2019.

Before moving to Media General in March 2023 to host the popular Onua Showtime, she hosted the UTV television food program McBrown Kitchen and the entertainment chat show United Showbiz.
