The Minister for Fisheries and Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Mrs. Mavis Hawa Koomson, has adamantly refuted allegations of her involvement in the reported incident concerning the assault on journalist David Kobbina from Cape FM in the Central Region on January 4, 2024.
In a press release issued by the Hon. Hawa Koomson Campaign Team, they vehemently denied any connection to the regrettable assault. The team categorically rejected claims linking individuals associated with them to the unfortunate incident, emphasizing their stance against violence and their commitment to a peaceful political environment.
The alleged incident reportedly occurred subsequent to a vetting process for parliamentary aspirants at the Central Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Cape Coast. The team expressed pride in the transparent and inclusive vetting process and condemned any actions that detracted from the positive outcomes achieved in preparation for the upcoming elections.
