Half of my Ministers will be NPP and NDC Members – Alan

Alan Kyerematen, the Presidential candidate for the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, announced that if elected in the upcoming December 7 general elections, he will appoint half of his ministers from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament.

He explained that the 1992 Constitution requires him to appoint half of his ministers from Parliament. As a president for all Ghanaians, he intends to include members from both the NPP and NDC, as well as any other parties or individuals who secure seats in Parliament.

During an interview with Bernard Avle on Citi FM’s Citi Breakfast Show, Kyerematen emphasized that his ministerial choices will be based on individual merit rather than political affiliation.

“People often ask how I will select my ministers. The answer is straightforward. I will choose ministers from the parties represented in Parliament, including independent candidates if they are elected. My selections will be based on their individual qualifications, not because they belong to the NPP or NDC. The constitution mandates that I select at least half of my ministers from Parliament,” Kyerematen stated.
