Ghanaian Afro-Fusion sensation Gyakie has officially announced her debut album, “After Midnight,” a project she describes as deeply personal and reflective of her most vulnerable moments.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Gyakie shared the inspiration behind the album, revealing that many of the songs were recorded during the quiet hours after midnight, a time she finds most inspiring.

“Almost all the songs on the album got recorded after midnight. Within those same hours, I get the best inspiration to write. The peace and quiet, the sounds from the birds, the serenity—everything from those hours helps my creativity a lot,” she wrote.

She also revealed that midnight has always been significant in her life, not just for music but for personal reflection and emotional release. “I’ve done a lot of crying after midnight too. When I’m in my down moments, I schedule the tears for when I get home from work, then I let it all out.”

Additionally, she shared a touching childhood memory, saying, “Growing up, my mother would always pray for us after midnight while we were deeply asleep. It was a consistent routine, and she still does it whenever we’re together.”

Prior to the album announcement, she teased an upcoming single titled “Sankofa”, hinting at rich storytelling and deep musical themes.

Gyakie has steadily built an impressive career, becoming the first Ghanaian female artist signed to RCA Records UK and Sony Music Africa. Gyakie has also delivered show-stopping performances at Kizz Daniel’s 10th-anniversary concert at the OVO Arena Wembley in London and the DMV Party in the Park in Washington, D.C.
