Three people, including a five-year-old child, have been killed in a shooting incident at Binduri in the Upper East Region. The attack, which occurred on Sunday, October 26, 2025, also left two others injured, among them George Bukari, the manager of Binduri-based Maxx Empire Radio and TV.
According to local sources, unidentified gunmen stormed a residence and opened fire on the occupants. The three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Residents suspect the incident is linked to the long-standing Bawku conflict, which has led to numerous deaths and mass displacements since it began in November 2021.
In a related incident, reports indicate that a mentally challenged man was shot dead by military personnel at Daduri, a suburb of Bawku, further escalating tensions in the conflict-prone area.
Security agencies have not yet issued an official statement regarding either attack.
