Medeama SC were held to a 0-0 draw by Kpando Hearts of Lions in their Matchday 5 clash of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League at the TnA Stadium.
Both sides struggled to create significant scoring opportunities, with Medeama coming closest in the second half. However, Hearts of Lions’ goalkeeper, Lawrence Osei, delivered a standout performance, making crucial saves to secure a point for the visitors. His efforts were so remarkable that even Medeama fans applauded him and gave him cash after the game in appreciation.
This was the first time this season that Medeama failed to score, having netted in their previous three matches. On the other hand, Bashiru Hayford’s Hearts of Lions recorded their second consecutive goalless draw, marking their fourth draw in five games. Their only victory this season came against Hearts of Oak on Matchday 2.
The draw sends Medeama to 3rd on the league standings with 10 points from four games. They will face FC Samartex on Wednesday, October 10, 2024, in an outstanding fixture, looking to extend their lead. Hearts of Lions, currently fourth with seven points from five games, will aim to break their winless streak when they host Vision FC in Matchday 6.
