Government to Pay GH¢95m Judgment Debt to West Blue Over Contract Termination

The government is set to pay a GH¢95 million judgment debt to IT consultancy firm West Blue Consulting due to the termination of their contract.

West Blue Consulting provided technical and support services to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) from 2015 to 2020, facilitated by the Ministry of Finance. Following the contract’s termination, West Blue pursued legal action, seeking payment for an outstanding debt of GH¢289 million.

The Commissioner General of GRA, Julie Essiam, confirmed the judgment debt during a public accounts committee meeting, stating, “Indeed, the judgment debt is GH¢95 million. We will not be able to pay all GH¢95 million at once, and therefore, the agreement with the court is to pay this in three installments.”
