Government to Give 16 Housing Units for Senior Public Officials

The Ministry of Works and Housing, in collaboration with the State Housing Corporation (SHC), has constructed a 16-unit detached and semi-detached housing bungalow for senior public officials, including court justices, ministers of State, and chief directors.

Situated on an acre and a half of land in Ridge, Accra, the development involved the transformation of a three-housing unit into accommodation for 16 different families.

Mr. Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Minister of Works and Housing, commended the project’s progress during his inspection, highlighting the Ministry’s commitment to optimizing land usage through such redevelopments. Similar projects are underway in areas like Airport Residential Area, Labone, Roman Ridge, Lartehbiokorshie, and Cantonments.

Expressing satisfaction with the project’s 95 percent completion, Mr. Asenso-Boakye praised the use of plantation to demarcate the units, suggesting it as a model for others to follow. He also noted the strategic proximity of the bungalow to the officials’ offices, facilitating timely arrivals.
